Cancellation And Refund Policy

Your plans may change due to any unforeseen circumstances. That is why, Make My India Trip (www.makemyindiatrip.com) aims to keep the paperwork related to Cancellation and Refund Policy simple. We request you to send your cancellation request by email and we will acknowledge it soon.

Refunds are calculated from the moment we receive the notice, not from the date you decide to cancel. The nearer the start date of the tour, the greater the cancellation charges because arrangements for cars, permits and driver schedules are already in progress after you pay the advance amount . Here is a quick overview of our cancellation and refunds policy:

  • Cancellation more than 45 days before travel: we deduct 10% of the total booking value and return the balance amount to the mode of payment.
  • Cancellation between 45 and 15 days: 25% becomes non-refundable as drivers and vehicles are assigned exclusively to your itinerary.
  • Cancellation from 14 to 7 days out: we retain 50% to offset loss of business and pre-paid road taxes, tolls and state permits.
  • Cancellation less than 48 hours before pick-up or in case of a no-show, the full amount is forfeited and no refund is due.

A. What if I cancel the trip after starting it?

Once the journey arranged by the best travel agency in India has begun, cancellations are no longer eligible for any refund, partial or full. Costs for vehicles, fuel, driver salary and road permits are committed from the first kilometre. Should you choose to curtail the itinerary, any unused days, miles or services remain chargeable in full to you.

B. Cancellations for Wildlife Safaris & Special Experiences

Bookings for extra experiences along with your group, solo, honeymoon or family tour packages in India etc. like tiger reserves, safaris, birding cruises, hot-air balloons and any other limited-entry activity are confirmed with non-refundable fees and operator charges. Therefore, once reserved, these experiences cannot be cancelled, amended or refunded for any reason, including date changes, weather concerns, or alterations to your wider travel schedule at all.

C. Peak-Season Cancellation Policy

Certain travel dates of your booked India Tours may coincide with nationwide holidays when demand for cars soars and supplier pre-payments are required upfront. During these travel windows, bookings are confirmed only after advance payment is received, and the payment becomes non-refundable:

  • 20 December to 5 January: festive peak, cancellations receive no refund.
  • Diwali week (dates shift each year): no refund after confirmation because vehicles and drivers are locked in.
  • Holi festival (two holiday days): once paid, the fee is strictly non-returnable under any circumstances for travellers.

Also, any third-party tickets, such as ferry crossings or monument passes, follow their own conditions and may be non-refundable even when the main transport service is cancelled.
